Book Review: CUT

A growing number of teen girls are cutting themselves to escape emotional pain and to "feel alive."

You know, I just wanted to see blood. I have no idea why, but I needed to see blood. I was drawn to it because if I could make myself bleed, it made me think I had hurt enough. I had been abused and no one believed me. I could never tell anyone, so I suffered for many years, punishing myself for what I thought was weakness and inadequacy.

- Sarah (pg. 20)

This book reveals true stories of real life struggles of normal young girls, who are cutting to ease the pain they feel within. It is also known as Self-Harm, Emo. They believe that by harming themselves they will fill the pain and that they would be healed. This is lie from Satan.
As You Read the stories of these girls who once had no hope but now, live with joy and freedom you come to understand that It was through the grace of God, and His love they that they became free. As this girl surrender themselves daily, they understood that it is through God’s strength and love that sets them free. The girls in this book choose to believe in Jesus as their Savior, they realized that the blood they were shedding made them dead, but the blood that Jesus shed on the Cross made Them Alive in Christ.

I have struggled with self harm almost daily for the past three years. The self-hatred inside drove me to try to destroy myself. It wasn't until I decided to believe the truth about God's love for me and the fact that He created and designed me exactly the way I am for a reason, that my heart, mind, and desires started to change.

-Krystal (pg. 29)

Cut will help you learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of self-harm, understand how and why these behaviors develop, and know how to break free and stay free. There is mercy for self-harm!

  3. Yes, we are healed by the blood of Jesus. But Many young girls do not understand the love and power Jesus has. We know that God came from heaven in the form of Jesus. He came to die and to heal our hearts. It make me so upset, to know that Satan has these girls in bondage. Please pray for all who are cutting, depress, eating disorders etc. We know that this is a lie from the devil. He wants to destroy the youth... Please seek help if you are struggling.... Jesus Loves You!
